Beschreibung
Der GalleryGrabber ist ein Programm, das euch von multiplen Seiten (deviantArt, VCL, FChan, Yiffstar, Furaffinity) die jeweils neusten Bilder (und deren Beschreibungen) von angegebenen Zielbenutzern runterlädt und präsentiert. Dies stellt eine enorme Zeitersparnis dar, da der GalleryGrabber erstens um einiges schneller ist als man das von Hand wäre und man ihn zweitens im Hintergrund laufen lassen kann, wärend man was anderes tut.

Systemvoraussetzungen
Ihr müsst Java2 Version 6 oder höher installiert haben. Ob ihr das habt, erfahrt ihr, wenn ihr in der Konsole (Windows: Start->Ausführen->cmd) eingebt:
java -version

Der Befehl "java" ist entweder falsch geschrieben oder konnte nicht gefunden werden.
habt ihr höchstwahrscheinlich kein Java installiert (oder nur die VM, die euer Betriebssystembauer mitliefert). Wenn etwas kommt, sollte das etwa so aussehen:
java version "1.6.0_16" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_16-b01)
Wenn die Nummer mindestens 1.6 ist, sollte alles klappen.
Wenn ihr Java noch nicht installiert habt oder ihr eine zu alte Version habt, könnt ihr die neuste Version unten bei "Download" herunterladen.
Kurze Startanleitung
Eigentlich müsste nach dem entpacken ein Doppelklick auf "GalleryGrabber.jar" reichen. Es passiert aber öfters, dass Komprimierprogramme wie WinRar die Dateiendung .jar für sich beanspruchen.
Sollte sich also ein solches Programm starten, öffnet die .jar mit javaw (Bei Windows: Rechtsklick -> Öffnen mit... -> durchsuchen -> javaw.exe im Javainstallationsverzeichnis auswählen (Am Besten "Immer öffnen mit" ankreuzen))
Bei jedem Start wird eine neue Logdatei generiert, in der die auftauchenden Fehler protokolliert sein sollten.

Bekannte Probleme
- Verschlüsselung nicht sicher: Wer den Sourcecode kennt, hat kein Problem, die verschlüsselt gespeicherten Passwörter zu entschlüsseln.

This looks like a really great program, but I can't get it to work. I download the files, unpack it and run it with javaw and nothing happens at all. I'll try updating my Java installation again, just in case mine was corrupt or something.

Try running it through the dos console using
java -jar GalleryGrabber.jar
that should at lest display an usable error message

I'm going to try downgrading my java to 1.6.0_16, which is what you seem to have based the program on. Perhaps Java changed something so it wont run? I dunno, Ill try it anyways

Yup, that was the problem. Change your download link to point to update 16, or update the code so that it uses update 18.

From what I can see, the problem was something other. You see, when I build GalleryGrabber, I was kinda lazy and referred to local files by their relative file names - now when you start it out of the java directory (instead of out of the GalleryGrabber-Directory), it can't find the files.
My guess is that your java was just installed in a weird way so that it was not the default for jar files and therefore could not open them - now after reinstalling, it could grab the file extension and run it as it should.
Aaanyway, it works now, so we're all happy ;)

That's a great programm, but it worked only for 1 day.
In short - when I click "Run" button, it's starting to download a gallery, as usual, but then the download bar vanishes and...completely nothing happens. Nothing.
I honestly can't get a single pic from Deviantart now :(((
I dunno... maybe they changed the code on DA to forbid that kind of download or something (I know that sth like that happened with picaloader).
Awww... :( That would be a shame!
I wish it could work again!

deviantArt actually did change something. They keep doing this. Bastards.
But I don't think it's because of me or my prog, they just like changing their site.
Anyway, it should work again, just download it again (you can just replace your old .jar with the new one in the zip - that way, you don't have to add the accounts again)

Okay, then you have a problem I can't recreate. Please go to the Workfiles subdirectory and delete the log.txt. Then try again (the same error should happen again) and copy me the content of the new log file. This should help me figuring out what goes wrong

I've checked a polish forum of the magazine that described your programm to the readers - it looks like I'm not the only one that have this kind of problem (but the topic was removed, because nobody could find a solution, ugh).
I tried to do what you told me, but... no new log was created 0_o
I guess it's because the programm doesn't even end the operation. :(
It's like I said - when you push "run" button, the usual downloading bar is shown for like 2 seconds and then the bar vanishes and the programm is... doing nothing.

Okay, If you can't find the log, we have to do differently. Tell me exactly what you try to download. What user, what site (I guess deviantart), since which date.
Then I can try it here and if I get that error too, I can (probably) solve it

Luis: can you tell me what exactly doesn't work? It works fine for me.. Did you tell the program which users on which pages you want to download? The Prog can't download anything if it doesn't know what to download ;) go to "add account" and add, for example, deviantart with the target user name ultravioletbat.
Oh, by the way, the last download date is set to the actual date when you make such an account, so if you download everything since "last download" right after adding the account, there will be quite possibly no new pics

First of all thanks for your reply.
To make a long story short, now everything works fine. I changed the accounts name (I no longer use the *, `, =, etc.) that comes in front of the names and I put a date in the date field.

Jup, those are just there to tell you the status (mod, paying member, free member, banned etc) of the user and are not part of the user name - but I guess you know that allready

Fchan also generated other problems. I should update the GalleryGrabber (EDIT: done). Too bad I have not really time for that because of other projects and work and updates for this homepage (maybe translating it to english?) and so on. As soon as I have time, I'll probably update.

Everything you need is in the zip..
Maybe your javac is older than version 1.5? or did you forget to include the libs (the jar files)?
